Bishop Michael B. Golden, Jr.

A dynamic leader whose journey into ministry began in Newport News, Virginia. Born into a lineage deeply rooted in the Church of God in Christ, Bishop Golden’s passion for serving others was ignited at a young age, nurtured by the examples set by his parents, Administrative Assistant Michael B. Golden and Missionary Deborah Golden, as well as his maternal grandfather, the late Bishop Samuel L. Green Jr.

With a Master of Divinity Degree from the esteemed Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Bishop Golden’s preaching is characterized by its eloquence and sincerity, captivating audiences nationwide. His dynamic sermons, infused with profound insights into scripture, inspire spiritual growth and transformation, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives.

Currently serving as the Pastor of Greater Emmanuel Temple Church of God In Christ in Hampton, Virginia, Bishop Golden leads with a vision for community empowerment, spiritual renewal, and social justice advocacy. Under his leadership, the church has experienced remarkable growth, both in membership and outreach initiatives, serving as a beacon of hope and transformation within the local community.

Beyond his pastoral duties, Bishop Golden is a respected leader within the Church of God in Christ, holding various positions at the local, state, and national levels. From his tenure as Superintendent of the Peninsula District. Currently he is the Jurisdictional Prelate of the Virginia Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, Director of the Men Perfecting Men Conference and Chairman of the Presiding Bishop Engagement Conference. Bishop Golden’s exceptional leadership prowess is evident.

Central to Bishop Golden’s ministry is his dedication to community development. Through initiatives like the GET Empowered Community Development Corporation, he works tirelessly to provide affordable housing and social services, positively impacting families from Richmond to Virginia Beach.

Supported by his devoted family, including his wife, Missionary Trina Golden, and their three children: Michael B. Golden III, Malaya Angelina Golden, and Samuel Lee Green Golden, Bishop Golden’s leadership is grounded in a deep sense of love and commitment to his community.
